Mumbai: Cab service via app is the new high. But Ola – one of the premiers in the business – took their customers literally for a ride. In a special campaign called ‘Ola Prime Time’, the company selected a few customers and had their car driven by none other than Narain Karthikeyan – India’s Formula One poster boy.
Along with Karthikeyan, comedian Abish Mathew (from AIB) travel along with the passengers.
Karthikeyan, like a disciplined cabbie, doesn’t speed up while Mathew entertains the people inside.
The campaign by Ola is to mark the addition of new cars to their existing convoy. While few commuters took time to recognise their driver, there were others who were shocked to find Karthikeyan on the wheels.
Mathew kept the journey interesting quizzing the people to decide who is more popular, him or the racer.
However, Karthikeyan isn’t the only F1 racer to drive a cab. Back in 2007, the legendary Michael Schumacher took over from a cab driver to reach airport on time.
