Suicide: Limbaiah was the sole breadwinner
Hyderabad: N. Limbaiah, a farmer, committed suicide by hanging. His body was found by commuters on Wednesday morning near the Katta Maisamma temple at Lower Tank Bund.
The Chikkadpally police reached the spot and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital Mortuary and identified him. The temple priest later told the police that he had seen Limbaiah at the temple and the latter had asked him to take the money as offerings for the deity.
Police says, Limbaiah and his family had come to Hyderabad from Sadashivpet mandal three days ago to treat his 25-year-old son Naresh. He had managed to admit him at a private hospital at Chaderghat but did not have enough money to continue the treatment.
His wife Lakshimi recounted: “He left the hospital before 4 am without telling us anything. I searched for him at all possible places but could not find him. Later, we got information from the police when they asked us to identify the body.”
Limbaiah was the sole breadwinner of the family as his elder son is sick. Police has booked a case and is investigating the matter.
