Watch: Weatherman pronounces 58-letter village name without a hitch

This man is one thorough professional

For weatherman Liam Dutton, no word can be too difficult to pronounce. During a recent report, the journalist for British TV station Channel 4, managed to say ‘Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch’ spot-on.

The Welsh village name translates to “Saint Mary’s Church in the hollow of the white hazel near a rapid whirlpool and the Church of St. Tysilio of the red cave”. A video clip of the seemingly-impossible feat was posted on Facebook, which managed to gather more than 1.7 million views and 18,200 shares.

Quite understandably, the name of this particular village is also sometimes shortened to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll or even Llanfairpwll.
