Mumbai: Emraan Hashmi’s first look as Mohammad Azharuddin in the biopic based on the former Team India captain’s life is out. Emraan has immersed himself in the role and is currently in London for the scheduled shoot. The team is currently shooting at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club where Azhar is also present to give in his inputs whenever needed.
The film produced by Ekta Kapoor also stars Prachi Desai opposite Emraan in the film as Azharuddin’s wife Naureen. The actress is currently on a vacation in London, and will commence shooting the film once she returns.
The film will reportedly highlight the cricketers much-talked about affair and marriage to actress Sangeeta Bijlani. The hunt for the actress is still one, but numerous rumours suggest Jacqueline Fernandez may be a part of the film.
Towards the end of his career the cricketer was accused of match-fixing, which will also be another major focus of the film. 'Azhar' is directed by Tony D’Souza. Scripted by Rajat Aroraa. Film slated for release on 13 May 2016.
