Hyderabad: Transport minister Dr P. Mahender Reddy and minister Nageswara Rao launched the She Cabs scheme at RTA Khairatabad on Tuesday. As per the scheme 10 She Cabs were launched and the vehicles were handed over to 10 women drivers.
Under the scheme a 40 per cent subsidy is available for women drivers who wish to purchase a car and the bank loan for the remaining part is also processed by the transport department.
The SheCabs are aimed at improving the safety of women. The cabs have a panic button for use in emergencies., as well as other navigation and tracking devices, as part of the safety features.
