Hyderabad: Justice Raja Elango of the High Court on Tuesday relaxed the bail conditions of TD MLA A. Revanth Reddy, the accused in the cash-for-vote case, by allowing him to visit Hyderabad.
Earlier, the judge had conditioned that the petitioner would be confined to his constituency Kodangal in Mahbubnagar district and should not visit Hyderabad except for attending court and for appearing before the investigation officer.
While disposing of an application moved by the petitioner, the judge allowed Mr Reddy to move out of his constituency and also to visit Hyderabad on business or for party work.
The judge directed the petitioner to cooperate with the investigating officer and to appear before the latter every Monday. He was also directed not to make any public statements with regard to the case during the bail period.
Prathyusha’s mom denied bail
The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday refused to grant bail to Chamundeswari alias Shyamala, who was arrested for allegedly torturing her 19-year-old step daughter Prathyusha.
Syamala and her husband were arrested by the LB Nagar police, Cyberabad on July 9 and sent to judicial remand after the rescue of Prathyusha.
Opposing the bail application, additional public prosecutor of Telangana, D. Rami Reddy, submitted to Justice Raja Elango that there might be a scope of the accused threatening the victim and other witnesses. She might also try to tamper the evidences.
Considering the argument of the prosecutor, the judge dismissed the bail application.
HC grants bail to Hasan Ali
Justice Raja Elango of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday granted bail to Pune-based stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan in a fake passport case.
Hyderabad-born Hasan Ali Khan had been languishing in the Arthur Road Central Prison in Mumbai in connection with money laundering and income-tax evasion cases.
Hyderabad police had registered a case against Hasan Ali Khan in 2011 under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code and also under relevant provisions of the Passport Act for obtaining passports at the Regional Passport Office Hyderabad and from the Indian Embassy at London.
Earlier in 2012, the High Court had dismissed his anticipatory bail petition. Mr Vijaysen Reddy, the counsel appearing for Hasan Ali, said that he had been in judicial remand for the past four and a half years and the Hyderabad police had already filed the chargesheet in the case.
While allowing the bail petition, the judge granted bail directing the petitioner to furnish personal sureties before the trail court.
However, Mr Syed Aale Mohammed Quadri, the counsel for Hasan Ali, said that his client would remain in jail, as he would have to obtain bails in several other cases pending against him.
