Reservation for women in police jobs
First time in the country, a state government was planning to provide reservations for women
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to provide reservations for women in police recruitment. Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, who opened the “friendly policing office” at Gajwel in Medak district on Tuesday, said that for the first time in the country, a state government was planning to provide reservations for women while filling the posts of 900 sub inspectors and 1500 constables.
The modalities were being worked out. Aspirants for SI and constables’ posts would be provided free coaching. The government has taken up an action plan to create jobs for youth in various sectors, he added.
