BJP fully prepared for Bihar polls, says Sushil Modi
Patna: Asserting that his party is fully prepared for the Bihar Assembly polls, BJP leader Sushil Modi on Wednesday said that the party in power might put their best efforts to hamper the process of voting.
"We welcome the announcement of the election by the Election Commission. BJP is fully prepared. We were preparing for the election for the last year to year and a half years and our alliance is ready for it," Modi said.
"We do not want the poor and the Dalits to be stopped from voting. We suspect that the party in power might put their best efforts to hamper the process of voting. The Election Commission will keep paramilitary forces in every polling booth stations to ensure unbiased election," he added.
The Bihar Assembly will go to polls in five phases. Voting for the first phase will be held on October 12, for second on October 16, for third on October 28, fourth on November 1 and fifth on November 5. The counting of votes will take place on November 8.
The Model Code of Conduct has come into force with immediate effect with the announcement of poll dates. Bihar has a total of 243 assembly seats and 6.68 crore electorate.
