Andhra Pradesh: Man kills friend, tries to tell cops thief attacked
ADILABAD: A 38-year-old man was killed in his home by his drunk friend at Venkateswaranagar Colony Malkajgiri. The accused S. Chandrasekhar allegedly slit the throat of U.N. Samuel following a spat. After the murder, the suspect tried to mislead the police by strewing household articles, chilli powder, washing powder etc. to make it look like a robbery and mislead the sniffer dogs.
However, the police apprehended the suspect following a complaint from their common friend. The friends, along with Rapid Action Force constable Prabhakar, were drinking together. Mr Prabhakar left at about 11.30 pm on Monday.
After Samuel’s body was found in his flat, the constable told the police that the duo had personal and financial disputes. The body, covered with blood, was found on a chair. “A deep injury was found on his neck along with injuries on other parts of the body,” said a police official.
“After Prabhakar left, Samuel and Chandasekhar started quarrelling about a financial matter. Samuel apparently used abusive words about Chandrasekhar’s wife and children and provoked him. He attacked Samuel with a knife,” said Malkajgiri ACP M. Ravichandra Reddy.
Earlier, Samuel had taken money from Chandrasekhar, promising him a job. But though Chandrasekhar did not get the job, Samuel did not return the money. Chandrashekhar, a native of Adilabad, had come to the city to talk over the matter with Samuel to discuss this matter.
Police officials said that Samuel was unemployed and was living on his mother’s pension. His wife had died a few years ago, and his son was studying in a boarding school. His mother had gone to a relative’s house when the murder took place.
