Woman held with 35-kg gold at RGI Airport
Hyderabad: A woman who tried to smuggle gold bangles weighing around 1.3 kilos was arrested by the customs officials at the RGI Airport on Monday. The Hyderabad-based woman, travelling from Dubai, landed at Shamshabad on Monday. The approximate value of the smuggled Gold is around Rs 35 lakhs. Officials identified the accused as Aman Ali Jabera.
According to officials, the woman is a native of Hyderabad. She travelled to Dubai six months ago to work as a housemaid. On the night of Sunday, she boarded an emirates flight at Dubai. She landed at Shamshabad in the early hours of Monday. Officials intercepted her at the customs entry and on checking her baggage found gold bangles, hidden under the clothes.
“She hid the gold bangles made under her clothes in her baggage. We found her suspicious and found them.” said a senior customs official.
