Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy sets stone for incubation centre
Anantapur: I&PR minister Palle Raghunath Reddy laid the foundation for the construction of an incubation centre at JNTU campus in Anantapur on the lines of IT towers of Vizag, Kakinada and Tirupati on Monday.
The tower is estimated to cost Rs 12.60 crore as the building proposed is having Stilt+3 floor structure with a total built area of 20,000 Sq ft. The building is proposed as a state of the art building with provision for plug and play facility, 24X7 power backup, broadband connectivity, recreational area, cafeteria and greenery.
The building will be ready for occupancy within nine months. APIIC has appointed M/s OCI Architects, Chennai, for consultancy services for the above work.
Mr Raghunath Reddy observed the proposed incubation centre was targeted to provide at least five lakh job opportunities for youth. "The state is badly hit with division as the entire IT based revenue and employment opportunities were lost," he observed and added that the new entrepreneurs were willing to start IT industries.
It is proposed to attract at least Rs 12,000 crore investments in IT industry and Rs 30,000 cr in electronics industry in state. The state government is keen on providing Internet, 4G services to every village within six months, the minister said.
IT advisor Satyanarayana said the government had set a target to make AP a top IT sector. Incubation centres would encourage youth towards innovations in the industry. MPs J.C. Diwakar Reddy, N. Kistappa, MLAs G. Suryanarayana and V. Prabhakar Chowdary attended.
