Hyderabad: Cops reach out to help youth join police force

3,300 enroll for free coaching

Hyderabad: Hundreds of unemployed youngsters from the old city are now looking forward to join the police service soon after the South Zone police has initiated an advanced level of community policing.

For the first time, the zonal police is organising free training sessions for aspirants at different parts in the old city before the candidates appear for SI and constable recruitment exams. As many as 3,300 candidates have enrolled for the free coaching and 100 of them are women.

The first indoor training session began on Monday at Falaknuma. The daily physical training has also started at different police grounds in the South Zone.

South Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana said that indoor training sessions will be conducted every week and for two months. “The aspirants are also coming for physical training every morning,” said the DCP.

The police had enrolled aspirants by conducting awareness through all the police stations. The cops carried out a physical measurement test and verified the minimum education qualifications to select the aspirants. The state government also came forward to sponsor food and other arrangements for the free coaching sessions.

In earlier police recruitments, several posts were not filled since many aspirants were not fit for the test. This time, we will help the youngsters qualify,” said the DCP.
