Andhra Pradesh ministers book 4-storey buildings
Hyderabad: AP ministers are hunting for residences and space to locate camp offices at Vijayawada. After Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu shifted to Vijayawada the ministers have also speeded up the hunt for camp offices and residences with the help of local leaders.
Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, panchayat raj Minister Ayyanna Patrudu, medical and health minister Kamineni Srinivas, municipal minister P. Narayana and some others have already rented buildings for their residences. Local minister Devineni Uma Maheswar Rao had started working from Vijayawada from the beginning itself.
Meanwhile, the ministers are planning to make their camp offices mini- secretariats. An MLA from the capital region who is helping in the search for private buildings at Vijayawada said that ministers prefer three or four storey buildings for their camp offices.
The ministers’ camp offices will be located on one floor and the offices of the secretaries of departments and the office of the head of the department (HoD) will be on the other floors.
The minister, the concerned secretary and head of the department play a key role in all departments. If all the three offices are situated in one building the ministers will be able to conduct meetings and take decisions easily.
As shifting all employees will take time and as some employees may not shift to Vijayawada due to personal reasons the government is planning to recruit persons through outsourcing.
This was discussed with the Chief Minister recently. Once outsourced staff are hired for work the government feels that its employees in Hyderabad will automatically shift to Vijayawada.
The government has already taken up renovation of the government guesthouses in and around Vijayawada and has released Rs 2 crore to relocate some ministers.
Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said that their offices at the Hyderabad Secretariat are camp offices and that their official office will be at Vijayawada.
