UNICEF’s celebrity advocate Madhuri Dixit attends the 'Radio4child' awards
Bollywood beauty Madhuri Dixit attended UNICEF India's 'Radio4child' Awards in Mumbai on Monday. Photo: Viral Bhayani- As part of her duties, she would have to lend her support to such programs all over the country, speak for UNICEF, advocate on their behalf, and also meet with government officials and seek their participation in fundraising events.
- Madhuri joins Amitabh Bachchan and Sharmila Tagore in supporting UNICEF’s work for children in India and around the world.
- This is not the first time UNICEF has joined hands with a celebrity. The organisation has collaborated with several world-renowned figures from sports, music, movies and the performing arts.
- "I appeal to RJs and Radio stations to give more space to critical issue of Routine Immunisation. I am honoured to be associated with cause of Routine Immunization to ensure healthy future for children," Madhuri said at the event.
- At the event, the actress thanked the RJ’s and added that we as a community should continue spreading the message especially through popular media outlets such as radio and television.
- This award honoured a few radio jockeys for sensitising the larger public through creative messages on Routine Immunisation.
- She has also been a part of the international organisation’s public service announcements that included messages on prevention of child labour and human trafficking.
- Madhuri, who recently stepped down as a judge on the dance show ‘Jhalak’, has been supporting UNICEF’s initiatives for child rights over the last one year.
- The actress, who was appointed as the organisation’s celebrity advocate for child rights stepped out to fulfil her duties.
