Bollywood actors have entourages to speak on their behalf, act on their behalf and as it turns out from a recent event, also take offense on their behalf. Athiya Shetty, new to the ways of showbiz found this out during a recent promotional event.
When the debutante was asked who her favourite actor in Bollywood was, she nonchalantly admitted to being smitten by Shah Rukh Khan — not Salman who is vehemently backing her film Hero.
An ‘offended’ team of Salman questioned Athiya’s answer, asking why she hadn’t named their Bhai. A scared Athiya bit her tongue for the ‘goof-up’ and set out to make amends by stating ‘Salman sir’ as the ‘ultimate’ star in her following public appearance.
Although the actor’s team seemed somewhat reassured after the statement, Salman himself cared little for it from what we hear. Says a source working closely with the film, “Salman had no problem with her naming SRK as her favourite. It is the people around him who’ve taken it upon themselves to take offense on his behalf.”
