Askmebazaar to connect online shopping to offline
The company also plans to manage the product listing on behalf of sellers
Hyderabad: Even as brick-and-mortar stores worry about losing market share to e-commerce websites, AskMeBazaar.com has developed a new model which uses the existing wholesaler network to sell product online.
Its first-of-its kind model in India Next Day Delivery (NDD) will connect the local buyer to the local sellers. “The quality products are picked from local wholesalers and retailers in the city and delivered to your door-step, the next day with no shipping charges,” said Marichi Mathur, head, Next Day Delivery (NDD), AskMeBazaar.
Under this model, each city will have a separate section, from where the consumers will have to shop. According to Mr Mathur, the company aims to add 20,000 products across India in the next one year.
Apart from the metros, he said the company plans to roll its service in 50 tier-1 and tier- 2 cities in the upcoming months. The company also plans to manage the product listing on behalf of sellers, unlike other e-tailers which expect sellers to manage their portfolio.
