Congress accuses TMC of ‘politically surrendering’ before the BJP
Kolkata: The Congress on Monday accused the Trinamool Congress of politically surrendering before the BJP at the Center to save itself from CBI probe into the Saradha scam in West Bengal.
"The TMC has surrendered before the BJP at the Centre in order to save themselves from CBI probe in the Saradha and Rose Valley scams. You can see both TMC and BJP are speaking in same voices," state Congress president Adhir Chowdhury told reporters.
"The Chief Minister claimed that a district has proper toilets and the Prime Minister without verifying the claim praised the state government. The TMC also doesn't raise voice against the BJP at the Centre. From this people can understand that there is a tacit understanding," Chowdhury said.
Accusing the state government of misrule in Bengal, Chowdhury said his party would campaign in New Delhi to expose the state government.
"The Chief Minister is going to Delhi and giving lectures on democracy and holding mock Parliaments. But, in her own state, she is using each and every mechanism needed to curb democracy and snatch away democratic rights of the masses. We will organise campaign programmes against the TMC in New Delhi to expose them in front of the nation," he said.
"The people of India should also know the true colours of TMC, who have championed themselves as murderers of democratic rights and values," the Congress leader added.
