Heavy rain fills up deficit in Rayalaseema
Hyderabad: The heavy rains that lashed Coastal AP and Rayalaseema in the last few days have brought down the rainfall deficit.
The cumulative rainfall in Rayalaseema stands at 17 per cent less than normal compared to last week’s estimate of 26 per cent less than normal.
Kurnool district had deficit rainfall with 45 per cent less than normal rains. Rainfall in Coastal AP stands at 9 per cent more than normal. “The trough of low runs from Odisha to South Tamil Nadu across Coastal AP persists,” said the Met department.
The cumulative rainfall in TS as on Sunday stood at 27 per cent less than normal. Over weekend, rain occurred at isolated places in TS, Coastal AP and Rayalaseema. In TS, parts of Karimnagar district and RR district recorded the maximum rainfall of 5 cm each.
In Coastal AP, Marripudi, Yerragondapalem in Prakasam, Srungavarapukota in Vizianagaram and recorded rains of 3 cm each.
