BJP hopes PM will aid poll plan
HYDERABAD: The BJP is hoping that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit will infuse new energy among the party cadre and improve the poll prospects of the BJP-TD combine.
“It is apt to celebrate Sardar Patel’s 140th birth anniversary on a grand scale in Hyderabad. It was because of the bold decisions taken by Sardar Patel as home minister then, that the Nizam's Hyderabad was merged into the Indian Union. This chapter in India’s history signifies national unity. It is for this reason that we have decided to celebrate the event in Hyderabad in a grand manner for which the Prime Minister is being invited. We are confident that the PM will make it for the event,” said TS-BJP chief and Amberpet MLA Mr G. Kishan Reddy.
Earlier attempts to bring Mr Modi to TS, by both the state government and TS-BJP, had failed.
Mr Modi's first public meeting is planned to boost the morale of party cadres, strengthen the party in Telangana and position itself as an alternative to the TRS by the 2019 general elections.
Besides boosting the winning chances in GHMC elections expected in the next five-six months.
