Ten reasons why Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty's 'Hero' looks like a winner

Here's what you should look forward to in the film

1. Salman Khan. His creative and practical support has taken Nikhil advani’s Hero to another level. Hero is not being looked on as a film with newcomers. It’s being seen as Salman’s film.

2.Salman Khan Productions(SKP)’s previous film Bajrangi Bhaijaan made Rs 350 crores at the last count. The aura of prosperity at the box office after Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan persists with Anees Bazmi’s Welcome Back opening to huge crowds. Besides film with the title Hero, like David Dhawan’s Hero No.1 and Main Tera Hero have done well. Okay, Hero Hiralal didn’t work.

3. The original Hero in 1983 was a roaring success. It made Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Sheshadri (neither of whom were newcomers when they did this film) into instant stars. Sooraj Pancholi and Aathiya Shetty are already much talked-about.

4. Films about the heroine falling in love with her kidnapper have largely been appreciated. Imtiaz Ali’s Highway and Pahlaj Nihalani’s Shola Aur Shabnam, being two examples.

5. Hero is the first major film this year starring newcomers in the lead. No important debutant has been seen in 2015. The film industry and the audience is ready for substantial new talent. The last significant newcomer was Fawad Khan in 2014. His debut film Khubsoorat too was released in September.

6. From his first film Kal Ho Na Ho which starred Shah Rukh Khan, no less, to his most recent film D Day Nikhil Advani has never worked with newcomers before. He says he chose Sooraj and Aathiya because he saw the star-spark in them. Stars even before their first release!!!

7. Nikhil Advani’s Hero has the blessings of Subhash Ghai who directed the original Hero. Ghai has gone through the script of Nikhil’s film and loved it.

8. Music played a big hand in the success of Subhash Ghai’s film. The title track in Ghai’s Hero was a smash hit months before the film released. The title track in the new Hero sung by Salman Khan is a rage.

9. Due to Sooraj’s troubles with the law audiences have placed a protective shield around his career. They feel he is the new avatar of Salman Khan.

10. Pyar karne wale kabhi darte nahin joh darte hain woh pyar karte nahin, says Aathiya Shetty as all hell breaks loose. Lata Mangeshkar’s immortal line written by Anand Bakshi from the original Hero conveys a big truth about our cinema. Action and romance combined together seldom fails at the box office.
