I saw myself in Sooraj: Salman Khan

Salman Khan talks about launching star kids Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in Hero

Talking about launching star kids Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Pancholi under his banner SKF in Hero, Salman Khan says that talent was only the deciding factor.

“I had seen ample talent in Sooraj and Athiya even before I cast them. We cast them not because they were Sunil Shetty and Aditya Pancholi’s kids. They have lots of potential, both are very hard working kids,” says Salman.

He adds, “I also see myself, the earlier Salman Khan, in Sooraj. I asked director Nikhil Advani to give Sooraj a launch pad like I got from the Barjatiyas’ who had also trusted in me then (for Maine Pyar Kiya).”

“I am writer Salim Khan’s son, but I did not become a writer, I became an actor. Take the example of Ajay Devgn who is also not an actor’s son but a fight master’s son. He too made it big as a star and not as an action master. I feel whatever is in your destiny, it will come to you finally. However, there are so many star kids who have failed to make it in Bollywood,” he adds philosophically.

“We have just four days for Hero to release and soon both Sooraj and Athiya will prove their mettle. And from the time the promos and songs of Hero released, I have felt that the audiences are liking both of them on screen. The rest will be history after the film releases on Friday.”

Giving us a sneak peek into SKF’s future, Salman says, “I am going to launch two fresh faces who do not belong to the industry, nor are they star kids. I will inform about these fresh faces when it is the right time. Till then wait for your breaking news…”
