Lalit Modi, Shashank Manohar’s alleged link stuns N Srinivasan

The BCCI is likely to take up the matter in the Working Committee meet

Mumbai: Former BCCI president N Srinivasan is stunned learning the alleged link between Lalit Modi and Shashank Manohar. According to reports, Modi – the former IPL chairman – and Manohar – former board chief – were in touch during the spot-fixing scandal of the cash-rich league in 2013.

Modi was shown the door after being found guilty on different charges of misdemeanour related to IPL.

The duo apparently exchanged emails during the turmoil.

Srinivasan said he didn’t expect Manohar to be in touch with Modi and then, criticise him.

Modi, in his mail in June 2013, wrote to Manohar saying that Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings should be auctioned to new owners.

In April 2014, Manohar had apparently written a mail to Modi questioning the line the cricket board lawyers took in the Supreme Court.

However, Manohar rubbished the allegation saying that he cannot operate computers and hence, sending a mail is absurd.

The board members, not convinced, feel that Manohar needs to provide clarity on the issue.

The BCCI is likely to take up the Manohar-Modi matter whenever they hold the Working Committee meeting.
