Yeddyurappa calls Siddaramaiah ‘irresponsible CM’
KALABURAGI: BJP Vice-President B.S. Yeddyurappa today lambasted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over the state government’s “failure” to tackle drought in the state and called him an “irresponsible” chief minister.
Mr. Yeddyurappa was replying to a reporter’s query whether Mr Siddaramaiah had proved himself to be a “failure” in tackling drought in the state. He said bad days for the state started after Mr. Siddaramaiah assumed office as chief minister.
He said Mr. Siddaramaiah has proved himself how “irresponsible” he is in dealing with the drought situation by failing to make effective use of the Rs 1,30,000-crore budget he had presented. There is no point in accusing the Centre of not coming to the aid of the state when the Siddaramaiah government is yet to submit a report to it on the drought situation.
“Let the CM first send the report to the Centre. I will take the responsibility of getting assistance from the Centre,” the BJP leader declared.
‘Looking for second innings in state’
Exuding confidence that the BJP would come to power in the state again, vice-president of the party B.S. Yeddyurappa today made it clear that he is looking forward to a second innings in the state.
Addressing reporters here, Mr Yeddyurappa, who is leading BJP’s “Chaitanya rath yatra”, said though he is in national politics owing to “inevitable circumstances”, his first and foremost love is state politics.
“Though I am BJP’s national vice-president, my entire attention is on state politics. In the next two years, I will tour the state and fight for the cause of farmers. I am 100 per cent confident that the BJP will return to power,” he said.
