16 industries get TSiPass into Telangana
Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Saturday cleared the setting up of 16 industries in the state. The proposed industries are in the sectors of solar energy, pharmaceuticals, LPG bottling, beverages, automobile tubes and tyres among others.
Industries minister Jupally Krishna Rao handed over approval letters to industrialists at an event in Secretariat.
These industries together account for an investment of Rs 1,046 crore and would create 2,988 jobs in Medak, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Warangal and Ranga Reddy district, officials said.
This is the third phase of approvals given by government under TS-iPASS, the new single window online approval system launched by Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao in June this year.
The minister thanked industrialists for choosing Telangana state to set up their units. He said that even in western countries it would take about 45 days to grant industrial approvals but the TS government was completing the task in less than 30 days. It was just two weeks for mega industries worth over Rs 200 crore.
He said the TS industrial policy was among the best in the world and efficiency had improved in all the departments connected to industrial approvals after the policy was implemented.
Mr Krishna Rao said no industrialist or entrepreneur should suffer due to a delay in the process of approving applications.
With this in view, the government had introduced the policy of self-certification. This is the most transparent, hassle-free, corruption-free system with no hurdles, the minister said.
Mr Venkat Reddy of Genesis said he was surprised at the coordination between various departments and at the speed at which licences were issued. Mr I.S. Rao from Aurobindo Pharma praised the support from the industries department.
The minister said that the officials would will further improve and pass on industrial incentives to applicants.
