Inter-state fake currency racket busted, 2 held in J&K
Jammu police recovered fake currency amounting to Rs 1,88,000
Jammu: Police arrested two persons in Jammu, claming that they have busted an inter-state nexus of circulating fake currency notes in Jammu and Kashmir.
"On a specific information, two persons identified as Shabir Ahmed, a resident of Anantnag, and Hassikul, a resident of West Bengal, were arrested at Sunjwan area of Jammu", a police spokesman said. He added that fake currency to the tune of Rs 1,88,000 was recovered from their possession.
Both the accused have been arrested and a case under various sections has been registered against the duo at the Bahu fort police station, the spokesperson said.
Police are further probing the case and more arrests are expected in the days to come, the official added.
