The actress who goes by the name Vaidehi in Tamil and Delna in Malayalam speaks about her upcoming films

Vaidehi may be increasingly getting offers to don the village belle avatar in Tamil, but Delna Davis, who was last seen in Malayalam in Roopesh Peethambaran’s You Too Brutus opposite Anu Mohan’s character in a live-in-relationship, is getting to do interesting and off-beat movies and characters in Malayalam. The actress, who goes by the name Vaidehi in Tamil and Delna in Malayalam, will soon be seen in a movie that narrates a story which takes place during a bus journey.
“The entire film takes place in the course of one day and narrates the story through a few sets of flashbacks, dream sequences and some incidents that happen during the travel. The film’s direction, cinematography and almost all technical aspects are handled by the students of Neo Film School Cochin. I’m paired opposite Amit Chakalakkal in the film. It’s an interesting film. They have recreated the song Ente Khalbile... from the movie Classmates in this film. Only a song, which is a dream sequence, remains to be shot,” says Delna.
Meanwhile, she will be seen playing a village girl in her upcoming Tamil film Korangu Bomma. “Even though it’s a typical village girl character, I’m happy to be acting alongside some really good actors. I’m being paired opposite Vidharth, who is very popular because of his movie Mynaa, and Bharatiraja sir also plays a lead role in the movie. Bharatiraja sir plays the father of Vidharth in the film. I’m really excited about sharing screen space with Bharatiraja sir. Initially, I was very scared because he is so much senior to me. But he turned out to be very cool and supportive. I already did a few scenes with him and a major chunk of the remaining 25-day shoot of the film is also with him. It was also fun to work with Vidharth because we were able to find a good chemistry with each other onscreen. The story is based in Thanjavur, but it is mostly being shot in Chennai,” she explains.
Delna is currently on a break between the schedules. “I have been shooting continuously for some time now and I’m desperately trying to catch up with my studies. Another Tamil movie of mine, the P Arokiyadoss movie 49-O, will be releasing soon. But I don’t think I can attend even the audio release of the movie because of my busy schedule,” she sighs. The movie marks the comeback of veteran comedian Goundamani and Delna plays his daughter.
