Andhra Pradesh government says staff kids will lose local status
As per the provisions of the Presidential Order, the children will become non-locals if they shift to AP
Hyderabad: The AP government on Friday admitted that government employees’ children studying in Hyderabad will become non-locals if they shift to AP. The government informed the Assembly on Friday that as per the provisions of the Presidential Order, the children will become non-locals if they shift to AP. The state said it was examining the issue to propose suitable amendments to the Presidential Order for solution.
The employees have been reluctant to shift to AP, expressing fear that the existing provisions of the Presidential Order (on nativity) will make their children non-locals in AP if they have studied from Class IV to Class X in TS, or six years continuously in TS.
