Bengaluru man kills mother suspecting affair
Bengaluru: Suspecting his mother of having an illicit affair with his friend, a 21-year-old youngster murdered his mother by smashing her head with a grinding stone. The incident was reported in Rajeshwarinagar on Laggere Main Road.
The deceased has been identified as Susheelamma, 45. The Rajagopalanagar police have arrested her son Shivakumar. The family hailed from Banaapura village in Tiptur in Tumakuru district. Susheelamma, who had deserted her husband Siddaiah as he was addicted to alcohol, came to the city about seven years ago along with her son. She was working in a footwear shop, while Shivakumar worked in a factory.
Shivakumar suspected that his mother had an affair with his colleague, identified as Dhananjay, and this had led to frequent quarrels. Dhananjay, who was married, had deserted his wife and had moved in to a rented house near Shivakumar’s house recently. Shivakumar was upset that Dhanajay visited their house frequently.
“On Wednesday night, Dhananjay reportedly stayed in their house overnight and asked Shivakumar to leave the next day morning. After he left, Shivakumar picked up a quarrel with his mother and it led to a heated argument. Later, Shivakumar stomped his mother I the neck and smashed her head with the grinding stone,” a police officer said.
“After the murder, Shivakumar locked the door from outside and left for work and returned around 7 pm and started screaming saying that someone had murdered his mother. He also alleged that Dhananjay was behind the murder. But blood stains on his shirt gave away his plot. When interrogated, he confessed to the murder. Shivakumar told the police that his mother neglected his advise to go back to his father. She also threatened to throw him out of the house if he objected to Dhananjay’s visit,” the police said.
