Vodka with sweet potato? Bring it on
Now, even those who aren’t fans of the humble sweet potato will admit that it has its uses! A distillery in the San Joaquin Valley, California, has claimed that they’ve created the “world’s first” vodka made entirely out of sweet potato. The spirit is being retailed as “Corbin California Estate Grown Sweet Potato Vodka”.
Each bottle of the vodka reportedly requires more than 4.5 kg of sweet potatoes and a team of about “100 hands” to produce!
Quite possibly, its “creamy mouthfeel and medium body, with nutty caramel undertones” and “a hint of sweetness on its smooth finish” make all the effort well worth the while!
The same label has previously created a sweet potato liqueur as well. A few months ago, it was reported that a family-run disillery had created Ireland’s first potato vodka.
