Actress Meenakshi Dixit is excited about pairing opposite B’town heartthrob Randeep Hooda in her second Bollywood outing. Titled Yeh Laal Rang, the film, according to her, looks into the blood mafia menace. Billed as a realistic flick sans any commercial ingredients, the movie is based on few realistic incidents which occurred in Haryana two years ago.
An excited Meenakshi opens up, “My joy had no bounds when I got to know that I would act opposite Randeep. He is a performer of a different level altogether. His screen presence is so amazing that he can overshadow anyone acting along with him. Though I was confident about my talent, I was a little nervous when I had to perform along with him.”
The actress, however, says that Hooda was very chivalrous and guided her in emoting a few scenes. She says Randeep believes in the overall output of a scene, and hence, makes sure that everyone excels in a sequence.
“That is one quality which I really liked about him,” she adds. Meenakshi feels that it is challenging to be a part of a film which is shot without resorting to any cinematic liberties or over-the-top characters or scenes.
“We are asked to be ourselves — director Syed Ahmad Afzal of Youngistaan fame wields the megaphone — he is particular that I don’t use any make up to portray my character. Once I went to the sets applying kajal on my face and he asked me to remove it. Such is the care he is taking to ensure that everything associated with the film is real. I play a medical student, who aspires to be a doctor — Randeep and I play childhood sweethearts in the film,” signs off Meenakshi....
