Anupam Kher honoured with Senate Proclamation from Texas

The actor has been conferred the award for his appointment as UN's ambassador for gender equality
Houston: Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has been conferred a Senate Proclamation by the Texas State Senate.
Kher, 60, who is touring the US and Canada for his play ‘Mera Woh Matlab Nahin Tha’, took to Twiter to express his joy and gratitude for the honour. The actor said he felt humbled to receive this kind of recognition.
The document read: "The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognise Anupam Kher, who is being honoured by the South Asian Chambers of Commerce for his appointment as a United Nations ambassador and champion for gender equality."
"Thank you The Senate Of The State Of Texas for honouring me with the 'Senate Proclamation'. I feel Happy & Humbled," Kher tweeted.
The actor, a known Bollywood export in the US, has appeared in Hollywood films like ‘Bend It Like Beckham’, ‘Lust, Caution’ and the Oscar nominated film ‘Silver Linings Playbook’.
The actor was also recently appointed as the ambassador of the United Nations’ He for She campaign.
