Chennai: Heated arguments prevailed in the Assembly on Thursday after Opposition members raked up the issue of inflation.
DMK legislator A. Soundarapandian said that that the farmers in the state were committing suicide and are facing debts due to inflation.
Responding to the legislators AIADMK ministers Sellur K. Raju and Kamaraj said that the state has brought in Amma series of schemes like cements, medical shops, unavagams, farm fresh outlets and alleged that the DMK was only interested in scams and not schemes creating arguments.
Cooperatives minister Sellur Raju said that the crop loan during DMK regime was waived off for Rs 9,000 crore and during the current AIADMK regime crop loan to a tune of Rs 18,000 crore has been waived off.
