GHMC will have to ensure immersion of idols in separate water bodies from next year

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday allowed immersion of Ganesh Idols in Hussainsagar this year but made it clear that the state government and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would have to ensure steps for immersion of idols in separate water bodies from next year.
A division bench of acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt was dealing with a contempt case by city advocate Mamidi Venu Madhav, seeking to punish officials for not implementing court orders for protecting the lake from pollution.
