Asthmatics have a torrid time in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Exposure to dust and smoke while travelling severely affects asthmatics. Senior cardiologist Dr Ashwin Tumkur said, “We have seen cases of asthmatics getting acute attacks when they travel in public transport over a long period of time. There have also been cases when they were uncomfortable in overcrowded places. It has been found that the pumping of the heart worsens and leads to acute broncho spasms due to which there is a lung and heart attack.” Asthmatics are thus advised to keep their asthma pumps at hand in case of an attack.
