Andhra Pradesh bill to seize graft property
Jagan Reddy said the government may use the AP Special Courts Bill to harass people
Hyderabad: The AP Assembly on Thursday passed the AP Special Courts Bill that provides for attachment of assets acquired by way of corrupt practices by public servants or those holding public office.
This was among the nine Bills passed in the absence of the only Opposition party, the YSR Congress, in the Assembly. YSRC MLAs had walked out earlier, protesting the government introducing and passing the Bills the same day, without giving the mandatory seven days period to study the Bills.
YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said the government may use the Andhra Pradesh Special Courts Bill to harass people.
