Telangana: Woman bludgeoned to death by ex-husband
Karimnagar: A 35-year-old woman was brutally murdered in Timmapur village outskirts by her ex-husband and his new wife after the victim allegedly began creating trouble in their marital life, police said on Friday. The incident took place under Yellareddypet police limits, nearly 70 kms from Karimnagar on Thursday night, they said.
According to R Rangayya Goud, Circle Inspector of Sircilla, the accused Gugulothu Ramesh (40) divorced his wife Gugulothu Kalavathi about five years back. Later he married Anitha (32) and was living separately.
Police say that Kalvathi allegedly started creating a rift between the married couple after they were blessed with a son. Vexed with her constant interference, Ramesh and Anitha hatched a plan to kill Kalavathi and asker her to come to a nearby forest in the village outskirts on Thursday for some work. When Kalavathi reached there, the duo bludgeoned her to death using a heavy stone following which she died on the spot.
The couple fled from the murder scene soon after, but the villagers spotted Kalavathi's body and informed the police. The duo has been arrested and a case under section 302 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against them. The woman's body has been shifted to Sircilla Government Hospital for autopsy, CI added.
