Bengaluru: Techie found dead under mysterious circumstances
Bengaluru: A 30-year-old techie was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her flat in an upscale apartment complex in Devarabeesanahalli on the Outer Ring Road in South East Bengaluru on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as Chetana Ramachandran, a native of Chandigarh and resident of Sobha IRIS apartment. A senior staff with First Flight courier service in Vimanapura, Chetana was living separately from her husband Ramachandran, neighbours told the police. Chetana was an alumnus of IIT Madras. She is survived by husband Ramachandran and a two-year-old daughter. Ramachandran is working as a software engineer with a private IT firm in Pune, said the police.
According to police, Chetana’s maid Usha alerted the neighbours on seeing the victim lying unconscious inside the bathroom. “I came to work and the main door was open and I walked inside the house around 9 am, Usha told the police. I was shocked to see her lying unconscious inside the bathroom. She had vomited and her daughter was sleeping inside the room,” she told police.
Alerted by Usha, the neighbours summoned a doctor and later shifted her to a private hospital nearby. “She breathed her last little while later and we suspect that she might have consumed poison, or she might have died of a cardiac arrest; however, we are awaiting the post-mortem report,” the police said.
Preliminary inquiries by the police revealed that Chetana had applied for divorce from her husband Ramachandran. The couple has been married for 4 years and they were separated for nearly eight months, said the police. “We have contacted Chetana’s parents and her husband who are on their way. We are also analysing her call record details to ascertain the possible motive behind her death,” a senior police officer said.
