Vijayawada: While many fans of former Chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy organised various programmes like blood donation, food distribution at hospitals across the city and district, a group of activists of YSR Congress, led by Manam Vengayya in the city, distributed onions marking his sixth death anniversary.
It is well-known fact that the prices of onions have been soaring in the open market since the last few days. Event the Rythu Bazaars have put up ‘no stock’ boards when it comes to onions.
In this regard, YSR Congress trade union president P. Gautham Reddy, who was the chief guest at the event, distributed one kg onion to all those who were present at the event.
The party activists believed that onions are more valuable at the moment and hence they decided to gift onions instead of other gift items, said Mr Vengayya.
