Nominated posts of TRS MPs elusive

The Chief Minister has been selectively filling up posts

Hyderabad: Like the rains, the much talked about nominated posts for TRS leaders is proving elusive. TRS leaders are waiting with bathed breath after Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao promised to fill up nominated posts including dozen corporations at the TRSLP meet on August 13.

However, sources close to the CM indicate the exercise would be taken up only after his return from the weeklong tour of China to attend the World Economic Forum meet beginning Sept. 8.

“I don’t think nominated posts will be filled up now. It may be done after the CM’s return from China. There are certain issues to be sorted out,” a senior Telanga Rashtra Samiti leader told Deccan Chronicle.

Besides public sector corporations like TSRTC, Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, Housing Corporation, State Financial Corporation, Markfed, SC Corporation, BC Corporation, there are scores of market committees, temple trust boards which have to be filled up.

The delay in filling up such corporations and other posts is due to disputes between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in the implementation of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

The process of nominated posts has begun for many temple trust boards though rules are quite stringent this time.

There is also a huge demand for posts in agricultural market committees of which there are 299 in the state.

The Chief Minister has been selectively filling up posts and the latest appointment is that of D. Srinivas, who joined Telanga Rashtra Samiti after quitting Congress.

He has been made Advisor to the government, Inter State Affairs with cabinet rank.

The appointment of Srinivas raised hopes of filling up of other nominated posts, but at the same time some of the senior leaders are quite peeved at turn coats getting plum posts.
