Warrangal: The Congress on Wednesday paid rich tributes to late Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy who was killed in a helicopter crash near Pavuralagutta in Kurnool district on September 2, 2009. Leaders and party workers garlanded the photo of Reddy and paid their homage.
Speaking on the occasion, former TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah said, “YSR was a people’s leader who still dwells in the people’s hearts. He gained the support of the people after his 1,467 km padayatra. He stood as the mainstay of the Congress during his rule. He always worked for the people introducing schemes like Jalaya-gnam, students fee reimbursement and CM relief fund,” he said. DCC president Naini Rajender Reddy and others were present.
