BJP in election mode, trains cadres
The cadres will also take up regional issues pertaining to their Assembly constituencies
Chennai: With booth level committees in place, the state unit of the BJP, which is on poll mode, has commenced the process of gearing up the party members to take up election related work.
The saffron party which was able to enroll a astonishing 50 lakh persons as members, recently, will highlight the achievements of the Narendra Modi government in nook and corners of the state ahead of the Assembly polls to the state.
The cadres will also take up regional issues pertaining to their Assembly constituencies and seek votes from people on the development plank. “The party members will be trained to tackle local and other issues concerning the people. We will also highlight the achievements of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” says Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, state president.
On Tuesday, the party concluded a trainers’ training programme at Perambalur in which about 500 party cadres were trained on ideology, taught the history of the BJP and how to tackle poll issues. They would tour the state and train others who are mostly new members.
“We have planned to hold the camps in 600 mandals covering all the 234 Assembly constituencies in the state and comprising 42 districts in the BJP,” says Vanathi Srinivasan, state vice president. Each Assembly constituency will comprise two or three mandals.
The curriculum for training has been prepared by the party’s central leadership and during the Bengaluru conclave, party president Amit Shah had directed the state leaders to take up extensive training programme for the party members. This training is expected to last for about two months and thereafter the cadres will begin campaigning.
