Cops bust school kids’ kidnap drama
Hyderabad: Four children who played a kidnap drama were caught by the railway police on Tuesday.
The children alleged that they were kidnapped from their home at Shamshabad in an autorickshaw. Later, during questioning, they admitted that they had come to the railway station to go to their grandmother’s place in Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh.
At around 11.30 am on Tuesday morning, Cops found two boys and two girls moving around near the exit of platform number one at the Secunderabad railway station.
The children were in school uniforms and were moving around in a suspicious manner.
When the police asked the children about their identity, the children claimed that they were students of St Andrew’s High School and was staying in the BS Maqtha area near Lifestyle Mall in Begumpet.
The children said they were kidnapped on way to school and were left at the railway station.
“Four men followed us in an autorickshaw. They caught us and closed our mouths with kerchief. We fell unconscious. When we woke up we were at the railway station,” said one of the girls.
After further questioning by the cops, they admitted that they came to the railway to go to their grandmother’s place in Kakinada. “They had a plan to bunk school and boarded an MMTS at Begumpet railway station and came to Secunderabad. When they were caught, they made up a kidnap story. The eldest aged around 11 made up the story and others followed her,” said GRP inspector Anjaneyulu.
Police handed over the children to their parents after verification by the child welfare department.
