Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan Khan — the two global faces of Bollywood are about to come together on screen in Sanjay Gupta’s Jazbaa. And now we hear, the director wants to cash in on their international appeal and make an English version of the film as well.
Elaborating on his plans, Gupta says, “We are cutting the film down to 90 minutes for an English version. Both Aishwarya and Irrfan have tremendous international appeal. We are getting the English version ready keeping their visibility in mind,” says Gupta. Jazbaa won’t be marketed as a run-off-the-mill Bollywood film abroad.
The director says, “We want a non-NRI audience to see the film in the West.” This is Gupta’s official remake of the Korean drama 7 Days. To heighten the drama, the events have been narrowed down to four days in the remake.
