NFDC team happy with PR Kandriga growth
The documentary is meant to showcase the fast phase of development
Nellore: A three-member team led by Akash Ahuja, creative director of National Film Development Corporation shooting a documentary film on Puttam Rajuvari Kandriga, the village adopted by ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for the last two days.
The documentary is meant to showcase the fast phase of development in the village during a workshop on Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana scheme at Bhopal on September 23 and 24.
The film will also be dubbed into 20 languages along with few other similar films on villages picked up under SAGY scheme. The languages include Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi apart from Telugu and they will be telecast by Doordarshan (DD-1) on every Monday either at 6 pm or 6.30 pm.
Out of 600 odd villages adopted by MPs under SAGY scheme, P.R. Kandriga is one among the five villages in the country, selected for case study during the workshop.
Mr Akash Ahuja and his team members Nitish Ahuja and Jitendra Bhargav were really impressed with the phase of development in the village going by their enthusiasm in talking about the habitation with this newspaper.
"Excellent and unique", Mr Akash exclaimed referring to the infrastructure and livelihood support from the government side. He had a special mention about the coordination and cooperation between the officials and villagers.
According to Mr Akash, the five-minute length film will mainly focus on livelihood, infrastructure, livestock, education, health and agriculture apart from other related activities. The team also shot a local folk art "Kolatam" on Monday.
The team already covered model villages near Pune in Maharashtra, Mandla in Madhya Pradesh, Bhuj in Gujarat and a village near Chhattisgarh capital Raipur and Puttam Rajuvari Kandriga is the fifth and last one.
