Ooty: A Christian pastor has been arrested by cops in Kotagiri near here on charges of sexually torturing a schoolgirl. Police sources at Kotagiri said that Aruldass (40), from Trichy who was working as a pastor in Kotagiri for the past several years, came into contact three years ago with the family of Mayazhagan, a plantation worker living in Gundada junction in West Brooke area near Kotagiri.
“While Mayazhagan's family was living in poverty, Aruldass is said to have promised to take care of the education of his eldest daughter and took her to Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district where he took a house on rent and made arrangements for the girl to pursue education in a school there,” police said.
Of late, there had been complaints from the girl of sexual torture being meted out to her by Aruldass. On a complaint lodged by Mayazhagan, the police investigated the case and subjected the 17-years old girl to medical examination after which Aruldass was arrested on Monday evening and he was remanded to custody, the police said.
