Mumbai: The premiere of 'Welcome Back', which was going to take place in Dubai, has reportedly been cancelled. The red carpet event was scheduled for September 2 at a swish venue in Dubai and cast of the film were expected to fly down from Mumbai for the same. But due to a sudden turn of events, the premiere stands as cancelled.
Conjecturing what the reason could be, a source close to the movie team told this paper, “It looks like the prints of the movie were not yet ready and that could be the main reason for the event being cancelled. The whole idea of the premiere was to highlight how Dubai has been showcased in the film. There is still no clarity on it and Dubai Tourism may hold a premiere on a later day.”
When contacted, director Aneez Bazmee simply said, “Yes, as of now, the Dubai premiere is not happening. I am not aware of the reason. Let me find out what went wrong.”
