Uttar Pradesh: Wife’s picture with IPS officer cap goes viral

Lucknow: Photographs of a senior IPS officer’s wife, seen wearing her husband’s cap, have gone viral on the social media, causing embarrassment to the Akhilesh government.

The wife of ADGP Mahendra Modi is seen in the photographs, wearing the cap of his police uniform and sitting on his official chair at his workplace. In other picture, she can be seen standing next to her husband and taking salute of the parade.

Mr Modi, however, said that there was nothing wrong in her clicking a photograph with the cap at home. Senior IPS officials, however, have expressed dismay at the pictures and have termed it an abuse of office. “Does this not show disrespect to the uniform?” asked another ADGP rank official.
