Mulayam Singh takes SP ministers to task, gives them 1 month to 'improve'
Mau, Uttar Pradesh: Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav took the ministers in the Akhilesh Yadav-led government and the party MLAs to task by giving them one month's time to "improve" in a bid to gain good results for the Assembly elections in 2017. The SP chief said that his minister’s meet only selected people and the ground situation was very poor.
Addressing a public meeting after unveiling statues of Jai Bahadur Singh and Jhakhandey Rai here, Mulayam 'taunted' the ministers and party leaders of 'definitely losing' in the 2017 state elections if they don't indulge themselves in more ground work.
Questioning leaders about the ground situation, he said, so much struggle was made to form the government in Uttar Pradesh. While the youths pedalled to ensure victory, the leaders remained spectator, he said.
It was the youths, who brought victory for the party in the state elections, Mulayam said, adding he gave them a month time to improve.
The SP supremo, however, appreciated the Akhilesh government for its performance and said that power crisis in Uttar Pradesh would be over by 2016. He also appealed to the people that even if the party gives ticket to a person of their dislike, they should ensure his victory.
