Sonia’s rally in Bihar a ‘reply’ to Modi
Patna/New Delhi: Congress president Sonia Gandhi will share the dais with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Sunday.
State Congress president Ashok Choudhary said: “This rally will be a reply to all the rallies which were addressed by the Prime Minister.” Meanwhile, the RJD chief on Saturday announced five seats for the Samajwadi Party.
Mr Prasad told reporters: “Mulayam Singh Yadav never asked for any seats for the Assembly elections, but we have decided to give five seats to his party, which would include two from the quota of the RJD and the rest from the alliance.”
The BJP on Saturday alleged the “excessive use of state machinery” for the rally by the ruling alliance in the state. State BJP chief Mangal Pandey said, “Mr Kumar is misusing his power. He is using administrative officials for the arrangements of this rally.”
The Patna rally would come against the backdrop of Mr Kumar hosting Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who sought to make light of the special package of Rs 1.25 lakh crore announced by the PM at his Arrah rally. Subsequently, Mr Kumar had announced a vision of investing Rs 2.70L crore.
