Telangana staff miffed with split panel
Hyderabad: There is growing resentment among Telangana employees over bifurcation of staff between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh as per the Kamalnathan Committee.
The committee has completed tentative allocation of staff in 80 departments so far. However, TS employees have lodged over 600 complaints with the committee against allocation of AP staff to TS in various departments with several of them making it to district-level officers in TS.
TS employees’ associations have warned the committee of “severe consequences” if these are not rectified by October 2.
The Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association, the Telangana Gazetted Officers’ Association and the Telangana Employees Association have alerted their members in their respective departments not to allow AP staff who were allotted by the committee to take charge in TS. The employees were asked not to cooperate with the AP staff, if they took charge despite opposition from TS employees.
The HoDs of respective departments are being pressurised not to accept joining letters from AP staff.
Most of the complaints are for the department of factories, economics and statistics, and pay and accounts.
TS employees also allege that AP staff have been allotted as district-level officers in Ranga Reddy, Nalgonda, Medak and Adilabad districts in the factories department.
Similarly, they have complained about 11 AP staff making it to the economics and statistics department and 13 AP staff in the pay and accounts department.
“Most of these employees are still left with 15 to 20 years of service. If they are continued, existing TS employees will not get promotions and freshers won’t get jobs. These employees secured postings in TS on health grounds, besides exploiting the relaxation norms provided to SCs, STs and spouses. This way, nearly 1,000 AP staff secured postings in TS. All these employees should be repatriated back to their native state and we will not allow them to take charge in TS,” said G. Deviprasad, honorary president, TNGOs.
Unions have already prepared a list of such AP employees who were allotted to TS.
